At the end of 2020, a quarantine for people returning to Poland from EU countries was introduced. People traveling by public transport (e.g. plane, coach, train) are directed to quarantine after crossing the internal border. The quarantine did not cover people traveling, for example, in a private car. The restriction caused some confusion, as some people were planning a cruise in the near future in Croatia, Greece or in slightly further regions such as the Canary Islands, Martinique and Guadeloupe. It turns out that the charterers' fears were unfounded. For https://www.strazgraniczna.pl/pl/aktualnosci/8880,Od-28-grudnia-nowe-obstrzenia-na-polskiej-granicy.html exemptions are:
"
8. persons sailing on recreational vessels between the ports of EU Member States, EFTA Member States - parties to the EEA Agreement without calling at ports of third countries,
"
The validity of the above rules has already been confirmed to us by several people returning from charters from Martinique.
Is quarantine mandatory for sailors after returning to Poland?
From December 28, 2020, people returning to Poland by collective transport (from EU countries) are sent to quarantine. Does this apply to yacht charterers?
