Yacht charters Italy
Sailing license - yacht charter Italy
When it comes to yacht charter regulations, Italy is not very different from other Mediterranean countries. If you want to lead a sailboat there, you must have at least a yacht helmsman license and a radio operator license (SRC).
An interesting alternative to sailing holidays is motorboat charter. Italy is a country where the choice of such units is very wide. It is worth remembering, however, that in order to drive them yourself, you must have at least a motorboat helmsman license and an SRC certificate.
Yacht rental with skipper in Italy
If you do not have any qualifications, you can still have an unforgettable holiday on the water: in this case, it is worth opting for the help of a skipper. It is also an advantageous option when you have a license but have not set foot on board for a long time or when it will be your first cruise on the waters of sunny Italy. How to find the right person? It's easy - just indicate when booking that you need a skipper.
How much does it cost to rent a yacht in Italy?
The answer to this question depends on several elements - including whether you want to rent a sailboat or are interested in chartering motor yachts. Italy offers a very wide choice of units, so you are sure to find something for yourself.
The season of the year also has a big impact on the price: even though the season is very long in Italy, most buyers (and therefore the highest prices) can be observed in July and August. Then a two-cabin yacht costs about 3,000. euros per week. For renting the same boat in September only 1700-1900 euros, and in April only 1200-1400 euros.
Yacht charter Italy - when is the best time to sail?
As we have already mentioned, the season there is very long and lasts practically from March to November. The best time to charter a yacht in Italy depends on your individual preferences:
- if you don't like crowds and are not afraid of uncertain weather, choose spring or autumn - prices are then the lowest, and the crowds in ports are much smaller than during holidays,
- however, if you are sailing with children and you are limited by school or you want to be sure that you will hit the warmest period, choose the end of June, July or August.
